An upscale suburb of Miami, it lies north-west of Miami International Airport. It takes its name from the famous golf and spa resort located within its municipal boundaries. The Trump Doral Golf Resort & Spa was originally built by Doris and Alfred Kaskel, who coined “Doral” by combining their names. The City of Doral was incorporated in 2003. Doral is home to over 10,000 and the largest being Carnival Cruise Lines, Univision, Ryder and Marriot International. The vast number of jobs in the area as well as its location just 25 minutes from Miami Beach and downtown Miami and only 10 minutes from MIA, make Doral a great place to live and real estate is at a premium.
The City of Doral is a popular place for families since there are many great options for public and private schools in the area, as well as state of the art parks for children and adults to practice their sport of choice. Also very popular in the neighborhood are the nearby shopping malls, across the street from each other you can find the Dolphin Mall and the International Mall.
